INFORMATION ABOUT WAD FILE
***************************************************************************
Title : Death Tracker
Filename : TRACKER.WAD
Author : Greg Heier
Email Address : GregHeier (AOL)
gregh@skypoint.com (INTERNET)
?????,??? (CSERVE - CAN NEVER REMEMBER THIS)
Description : Deathmatch Level
I put more work and time into this than I'd like
to admit, but I think you'll like the results.
This level is made from scratch, but the courtyard
idea (the idea that got me started) was borrowed
from FIRESTM2 - another good WAD to have (available
on AOL).
This is my first - and last - level. (I seriously
more I'd want to put into a level).F
HINT: Read the rest of this file - I've included
a hints and tricks section near the bottom.
Tips (Important) : After some experimentation, we've found that
using the -ALTDEATH parameter and NOT using the
-RESPAWN parameter yield the best results. After
all, when you kill a couple of CyberDemons you
don't want them to come back a few seconds later.
Additional Credits to : The Tracker Technical Support & Sales Team for
much input and encouragement.

Copyright / WAD Authors
***************************************************************************
Authors may use this WAD to create levels of thier own, provided two
criteria are met:
(1) You credit me (or this WAD) in your description file (and you tell them
where they can find it).
(2) (More Importantly) You E-Mail me at one of my addresses where I can find
your WAD (or better yet) attach the WAD to your E-Mail...Please Note:
Gateways strip off attachments generally, so if you attach things to my
internet address, you'd better have a real internet account (or I won't
get your attachments).

Wish List Items - For WAD Authors
***************************************************************************
I'd especially like to see someone come up with new textures, sounds, music,
whatever. I don't have a soundcard on the system I use most of the time
(it's a notebook), so I didn't do anything with the sound or music.
Crushing Ceilings would be nice. I installed these in a number of places,
but found when people hit the switch the game slowed tremendously and you
had to switch to another level to fix this. It wasn't worth it.
If you don't know how to make changes, E-Mail me with your idea and if I
think it's a good idea, I'll make the changes and E-Mail the new WAD to you.

Copyright / Distribution
***************************************************************************
You can distribute this WAD as long as it stays with this file. If you modify
the WAD, make your own description file to replace this one.
* Where to get this WAD *
AmericaOnline (and possibly FTP somewhere).

Notes and Hints for play
***************************************************************************
WARNING: Play the WAD a few times before you read this -- it'll make a lot
more sense that way.
- The textures are a big clue to where you are in the maze (so you aren't
looking at your map while someone is nailing you with a plasma rifle).
- Play with (if possible) -NODES 3 or 4 -DEATHMATCH -ALTDEATH
- There are a number of hidden passageways. Use the computer map item to find
the secret areas. The textures were choosen to make them nearly impossible
to stumble upon (you can't tell where they are by looking at them).
- The maze is one of the best places to get weapons. The complex of rooms of
the courtyard to the north is the best place to get ammo. Bonuses are
scattered throughout the maze.
- There is a room that has every desirable item in the game (all the weapons,
the bonuses, the backpack and all the ammo you can carry). Look for a lot
of monsters and you'll be there.
- If there are monsters somewhere, they're probably guarding something.
- There is no way (REALLY) to get out of the pit in the center of the
courtyard...but if you're almost dead, you could get a few extra
frags if you jump (or fall) into it.
- There is no way (REALLY) to get out of the pit on the far side of the
CyberDemon room (you'll know it when you see it). Better call over a
friend for a free frag if you get stuck there.
- Watch where you are going. There are many ledges in this game. (ie, you jump
down but there isn't a way to get back up).
- There is an exit, but you have to find a secret door to get to a secret
passageway, to find another secret door, to get there.
- Three switches have to be used to exit.
(These precautions taken because some people like to hit the exit when
they're near death to avoid a frag). :-P
- I like pain elementals. I hope you do to.
- The BFG is the hardest weapon to get. You can never get it on startup.
There are three places to get it and none of them are easily accessable.
- You can usually get past the big spider w/o trying to kill it. It's very
hard to kill. (It takes 2 direct BFG hits or equivilant -- it's the second
hardest monster to kill).
- Explore and have fun! It's amazing what you can figure out when you are
trying to frag someone.
